Mark Sheldon Selected as Director of Coaching
Mark Sheldon, KSYSA ODP Girls Head Coach and longtime member of the State Coaching Staff as trainer and license instructor, has been selected as the State Director of Coaching.
Mark brings an unbridled enthusiasm and desire to organize and develop the infrastructure of youth soccer in the State of Kansas for players and coaches. He offers over 15 years of experience as a youth club soccer coach, a US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program coach in Kansas and Region II, a high school coach and as a NCAA Division I coach (KU Women's Soccer, 2001).
For the past 13 years, Sheldon has been a teacher in the classroom for both Shawnee Mission and Olathe School Districts. He was named to the Who's Who Among High School Teachers numerous years and was selected as the 2005 Kansas Coaches Association's Coach of the Year for Girl's Soccer for leading the soccer program to the Kansas 6A State Runner-up finish in 2005 and 2006.
He holds a USSF "A" License (1996) and the National Youth License (1999). He is also the Region II Head Coach for the 1994 ODP Girls team. Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and a Master's of Science in Teaching and Leadership degree from the University of Kansas.

Brian Bliss Becomes
Technical Director for Columbus Crew
The Columbus Crew has announced that Brian Bliss, Kansas Youth Soccer Director of Coaching, will be its new Technical Director effective February 1, 2008. Kansas Youth Soccer wishes to congratulate Brian and thanks him for the great work he has done for the association over the last year.
