TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
PREMIER Division – Any team can sign up and enter. Recommended for teams that participated in the 1st or 2nd division within their local community league.
OPEN Division – Only for teams that did not play in the top division or flight of their local community league within the past seasonal year (Fall of 2011 or Spring of 2012).
** Only the first 16 teams within each division and age group will be accepted assuming ALL registration paperwork is complete and the performance bond has been received. Registrations after the 16 teams will be placed on a waiting list based on the order of the completed registrations. In the event a team withdraws, the next team to meet all the criteria will be accepted. Once the 16 teams are determined, all other registrations will be denied.**
PLAYING FORMAT:
*U11 – U12 will play 8 versus 8 with roster size limited to 13 players. Two-30 minute halves.
*Round Robin Pool Play (minimum of 3 games) with team(s) advancing from Pools to determine the eventual Kansas Junior State Champions.
*Seedings/Pools will be based on a double-blind draw.
DURATION OF GAME:
AGE GROUP REGULATION TIME (HALVES) OVERTME PERIODS (HALVES)
UNDER 11 30 MINUTES 10 MINUTES
UNDER 12 30 MINUTES 10 MINUTES
Overtime periods will only be played in preliminary matches where there is only one bracket in an age group and all semi-finals and finals. If match is still tied after overtime periods, FIFA “Kicks from the Penalty Mark” will be used in order to determine a winner.
