MESSAGE FROM THE MRL COMMISSIONER: (AUG. 8, 2011)
With the recent rules changes to Rosters in US Youth Soccer’s National Championship Series Policy, there have been some modifications to MRL terminology and the size of Team rosters permitted at Under 14 and Under 15 for MRL competition that are effective immediately.
--The maximum number of players on an Under 14 or Under 15 Team Roster is now 22. This means that the maximum number of players on all Team Rosters in the MRL is 22.
--We will now refer to “Guest” Players and Rosters as “Club Pass” Players and Rosters. This is consistent with NCS Policy. There are no changes to the MRL method of operations as we will continue to permit additional players as per our rules for teams, provided that such players come from within your club and subject to our Team Roster & Player Rules and Policy. (3 to 7 Club Pass, formerly Guest, players are permitted). Nothing really changes except for the terminology.
To summarize, Club Pass (formerly Guest) player rules for Under 14 and Under 15 now mirror our Under 16 through Under 18 rules so that all roster rules and policy are consistent through all MRL age groups. Teams can continue to use up to 25 players during the course of the season in accordance with our rules and policy that were previously in effect. Please know that the MRL may revisit this policy (using up to 25 players) and increase the number allowed in a season per team.
Be sure to refer to the “2012 Spring Season Information for Teams” for additional information. A copy of the Guide can be found on MRL website along with the new roster forms and revised wording within the MRL Roster Rules (Section III).

-- Please note that the team registration deadline is Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 5:00 PM ET.
--As part of the two-step approval process for teams, State Associations (step one) will approve/reject team applications from within their state.
--As for MRL approval, we expect to announce the accepted teams the week of November 13th and their placement into divisions around November 28.
--Payment of team fees $350 will be due (IN A SEPARATE CHECK; memo: AGE; GENDER; TEAM NAME - U15B KC TOYOTA) by the registration deadline of Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 5:00 PM ET. (and made payable to Kansas Youth Soccer) in order for your team to be approved by the State for the Spring 2012 MRL season.
**Any payment received late (postmarked AFTER 11/9/2011) will require a LATE FEE of $50.00 additional to the orginal fee of $350.**
