In his role, Paul was responsible for establishing a soccer development curriculum for all levels/programs in the club, oversee the day-to-day operations for the non-profit club including budgeting, fundraising, sponsorship, personnel management and other administrative responsibilities for Iowa Rush. Over the last few years, Paul helped expand the club across the state to have three Iowa Rush branches within his oversight and leadership to enhance player pathways and opportunities for all involved. The framework under Fabry’s leadership has been successful to help guide players and coaches through multiple State Cup Championships, national tournaments as well as state and regional league championships. History of Fabry’s player development include a balance of helping players to achieve their collegiate and US Youth National team goals while creating a passion for the game within players at the recreational levels. His goals to create life-long contributors to soccer through higher level playing opportunities, refereeing or coaching as a way to give back to the game as players age has been demonstrated for decades as a part of his player development philosophy.
Prior to his position with Iowa Rush, he worked in college soccer as an assistant coach for two NCAA Division I programs at Bowling Green State University and University of Toledo. While at these programs, teams consistently won Conference Championships and earned appearances to the NCAA National Tournament.
In addition to his work, Paul has been involved in many aspects of US Youth Soccer’s Olympic Development Program (ODP); most recently being a part of Iowa ODP as a coach and evaluator since 2009. While working in the collegiate game, Paul was involved with the Ohio North ODP program as a coach from 2002-2009. His involvement with ODP earned him the position as a Midwest Regional ODP Staff Coach until 2013 and participation on the coaching staff for ODP National Camp. Within the coaching education world, Fabry has contributed on many levels as a Coaching License Instructor for over fifteen years and has been on numerous committees including the Player Development Advisory Panel (PDAP) for Iowa Soccer.
We are excited to have Paul join our team at Kansas State Youth Soccer Association.
