What is ODP?

US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program Mission

The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) was established in 1977 as a nationwide process dedicated to the identification and training of players for State, Regional, and National Teams.

US Youth Soccer ODP has programs in all 55 State Associations and the United States is divided into four (4) ODP Regions - Kansas is a part of Region II.

Region II is comprised of the 14 state associations in the Midwest, which stretches from Ohio to the Dakotas and from Kentucky to Minnesota.  Region II has a population base of over 75 million people and over 850,000 soccer players!

Regional teams are selected for the U13 - U17 boys and girls.

ODP AGE GROUPS

The Olympic Development Program age groups requirements are different than Club soccer.  ODP age groups are based on the year of birth and have a January 1/December 31 cutoff date instead of the August 1 cutoff date used for Club soccer. Age Groups/teams in ODP are referred to by year of birth (example 2000) rather than U13 or U14 in Club.  Kansas ODP offers programming in the five oldest age groups (U13-U17) each year.  We also offer our ODP Academy for the three younger age groups for the purposes of providing training without the pressure of tryouts or selections.
