Chris Duke named as new KSYSA Executive Director

The Kansas State Youth Soccer Association (KSYSA) and Sporting Blue Valley Soccer Club announced today the appointment of Chris Duke to be the next Executive Director of KSYSA.  According to Carol Cleek, KSYSA Board President, the board has unanimously affirmed the selection of Duke who will be assuming the role on October 21, 2013.

Duke has served as a Director at Sporting Blue Valley Soccer Club since 2004.  Besides coaching several competitive boys and girls teams, Duke has also been an integral part of day-to-day operations within the club. Chris Duke spent his collegiate career as an All-American at the University of San Diego.  He was then drafted by the Kansas City Comets in 1989.  It was here that he found his home.  He continued his professional career until 1996.  In 1997, Duke founded and became the Executive Director of the Kansas City Nomads Soccer Club, growing the club from 3 to 26 teams before joining with Blue Valley Soccer Club in 2004.

“We are thrilled to bring Chris into KSYSA to bring some new energy and direction for the organization,” said Cleek.  “We are confident that Chris will bring new soccer focus and vision for our organization.”
