Highlights from the finals:

Soccer Nation Academy 05 (KS) went undefeated in the 2018 Midwest Regional Championships, capping the performance off with a win over Pennine United 05 (OH-N) in the 13U Boys final. Manuel Romero scored in the 36th minute to give Soccer Nation the lead just as the second half started. With three minutes left in the game, Anthony Castor scored his 13U Boys leading ninth goal of the tournament to secure the win for Soccer Nation who went on to win 3-0.

The 13U Boys final will feature Soccer Nation Academy 05 (KS) and Pennine United 05 (OH-N). Soccer Nation advances after a thrilling win in kicks from the mark against Nationals Union 05 Black (MI) after the teams were still tied at two after overtime. Anthony Castor scored two both of the goals for Soccer Nation after they went down. Pennine defeated Raiders FC (IL) 2-0 in its semifinal game. Jack McDaniel put up the first goal for Pennine just six minutes into the second half and Zsombor Onodi extended the lead in the 64th minute.


Some highlights from Friday’s games:

Soccer Nation Academy 05 (KS) was led by Anthony Castor in its 13U Boys division win against Classics Eagles Red 05 (OH-S). The teams went scoreless early on, but in the 21stminute Castor scored to give Soccer Nation the 1-0 lead. Soccer Nation took the narrow lead to halftime. Just six minutes into the second half Castor netted his second goal of the game and fourth of the tournament to increase the lead for Soccer Nation. They held on to the 2-0 lead to earn its second win of the tournament.
