The 2012 Jr State Championships were held at Lone Elm Soccer Park in Olathe, Ks - hosted by the Kansas Rush Soccer Club May 11-13th. Eight teams in the U11 and U12 age brackets took home trophies ~ Our congratulations to all the teams who participated and to our Champions and Finalists

The 2012 President's Cup will come to Topeka Ks and the Sunflower Soccer Complex starting Friday, May 25th. The KSYSA would like to thank Visit Topeka, the Sunflower Soccer Association and the Holiday Inn Properties located in Topeka for their generous support of this event. The President's Cup is for teams in the U13 to U17 age groups Winners will advance to the Region II Event, which will be held June 14-17 in Overland Park, Ks at the OP Soccer Complex.

The KSYSA will be listing tryout dates and links to clubs for tryouts of our member clubs. Tryouts can begin on Saturday, June 9th. If you have a tryout listing you would like to send us, please send it to kansayouthsoccer@gmail.com

A recent online article by Andi Atwater of the Wichita Eagle (2/21/12) reports on the seriousness of concussions in youth sports and the new law which was passed in 2011. The CDC's Program "Heads Up Concussions in Youth Sports" and the "Think Taylor" Foundation are also targeting this important health issue amongst student athletes.
