KSYSA Independent Options

General Information

KSYSA only permits independent team registration through the state office in limited cases, typically for teams located in Western Kansas (District 5).

Teams within Districts 1 – 4 must register through the following league:

If you are unsure what district your team falls? Visit the following page for more information

DIstrict information

Teams wishing to register as an Independent Team must first gather all required information for team officials (coaches and managers) and players before contacting the KSYSA office.

Once all information is ready, please contact Sarah McTighe or Gillian Boehmer for assistance with registration.

After payment has been submitted, a KSYSA staff member will follow up with details regarding the processing of your rosters and player/coach ID cards, including whether they will be mailed or available for pickup.

Any KSYSA Independent Team that would like to participate in Kansas State Cup, Kansas Presidents Cup or Kansas Junior State Cup would need to meet all of those events specific qualifications to be eligible to participate.  Click the event above and go to rules for more information on team eligibility.

For instance, Kansas State Cup requires 51% of the roster will need to be of players that reside in Kansas, as well as participate in a league that meets specific KSYSA requirements in order to be in the event.

If they do NOT wish to play in the KSYSA State Tournaments, then the players residents has no part and you may still register with KSYSA. So your max roster could have players all from another state and still register with KSYSA as long as they follow appropriate requirements from those state associations.

Coaches & Managers

All coaches and managers that have direct contact with any of the youth players will need to complete two requirements before a US Youth Soccer ID Card can be created or their name put on a KSYSA State Roster.

Coaches and managers need a background check that will cost them $20 and be valid for two (2) years after approval.  This cost is NOT included in the price of Independent Team registrations and will be covered by the individual coach or manager.

Should an individual fail to pass a background check then they will not be allowed to be around the team directly with youth players in any soccer team specific activities.  Your payment will NOT be refunded for any reason once your submission of a background check is done.

More information on how to submit your background check will be sent to you directly by the contact below when you begin to gather your teams information.

Coaches and Managers need to complete the SafeSport Training Courses modules before they are allowed to be apart of the team.  This training completed once your GotSoccer Coaches or Managers account is set up by KSYSA.   It is FREE of charge if you follow the instructions below.

If a Coach or Manager has completed the SafeSport Certification through another sports governing body or educational institution then you DO NOT have to complete the requirement again.   Simple email the contact below with your attached certificate and it will be linked to your GotSoccer Account once created.
