
Competitive Tryout Details
I. Player Identification Events Timeline
- January 1st, 2025 – KSYSA Clubs/Teams may begin to advertise tryout dates and locations
- January 1st, 2025 – KSYSA Clubs/Teams may begin advertising for certain events, such as Player Identification Events, Camps, Player Kick Arounds
- January 1st, 2025 – Events can be held only after proper advertising
II. Signing Day – **NEW RULES**
- Players can re-sign with their current club team from the 2024-2025 Seasonal Year beginning April 1, 2025, and may place a deposit securing their spot with their current club team without going through the tryout process.
- Players born between 2007-2014 ONLY can sign to a NEW club starting at 12:01 am on May 27th, 2025. A player may sign without participation in a physical tryout to a NEW team if they have attended an “ID Event” and the club has followed the proper advertising and registration requirements.
III. Physical Tryouts
- Friday, June 6th, 2025 – Physical tryouts may begin for ALL age groups.
Players who accept an offer through the Tryout Process, including those who have re-signed with their current club, have 72 hours from the date of their acceptance to rescind their commitment to the club/team without penalty, financial or otherwise. If they do so within 72 hours, they shall receive a full deposit refund.
Hosting Player Identification Events Criteria
Rules for Holding Events for the 2025/2026 Seasonal Year:
- Events are only allowed for age groups playing U12 or above; 2025/2026 Birth Years – 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014.
- Events must be advertised on social media, club websites, etc., for a minimum of 14 days prior to the Event. Proof of advertising may be required.
- Separate registration/attendance must be taken for each event.
- The event must be open to any player wishing to attend and participation age groups must be listed on advertising.
- Individual player invitations, targeted recruitment or direct marketing to specific individual players are strictly prohibited.
- Under no circumstances may a player commit in writing or financially with any team from a pre-tryout Event until the Signing Day(s), as defined in Section II above.

Kansas Youth Soccer Rules
Formal Acceptance: Once a player has made a formal acceptance (written or electronic signature) to an offer from a club or team, they are bound to that club/team for the seasonal year until the next Signing Day the following seasonal year, UNLESS a release transfer request is submitted and approved by all parties involved.
- A player shall have 72 hours from the date of their acceptance in which to rescind their commitment to the club/team and change their mind without penalty, financial or otherwise. No form is required just document proper dates in case of appeal or protest from the club.
