
Competitive Tryout Details
I. Player Identification Events Timeline
- January 1st, 2026 – KSYSA Clubs/Teams may begin to advertise tryout dates and locations
- January 1st, 2026 – KSYSA Clubs/Teams may begin advertising for certain events, such as Player Identification Events, Camps, Player Kick Arounds
- January 1st, 2026 – Events can be held only after proper advertising
II. Signing Day – **NEW RULES**
- Players can re-sign with their current club team from the 2025-2026 Seasonal Year beginning at 12:01 am on April 1, 2026, and may place a deposit securing their spot with their current club team without going through the tryout process.
- Players may sign with a NEW club starting at 12:01 am on June 5, 2026, the first official day of tryouts.
III. Physical Tryouts
- Friday, June 5, 2026 – Physical tryouts may begin for ALL age groups.
Players who accept an offer through the Tryout Process, including re-signing with their current club/team, have 72 hours from the date of their acceptance to rescind their commitment to the club/team without penalty, financial or otherwise. If they do so within 72 hours, they shall receive a full deposit refund.
Hosting Player Identification Events Criteria
Rules for Holding Events for the 2026/2027 Seasonal Year:
- Events are permitted only for age groups playing U8 or above.
- Events must be advertised publicly (e.g., social media, club websites) at least 14 days in advance. Proof of advertising may be requested.
- Separate registration/attendance must be taken for each event.
- Events must be open to all players with age groups clearly listed in all advertising.
- Individual player invitations, targeted recruitment or direct marketing to specific individual players are strictly prohibited.
- Players may NOT commit, either in writing or financially, to any team from a pre-tryout Event until the official Signing Day(s), as defined in Section II above.

Kansas Youth Soccer Rules
Formal Acceptance: Once a player has made a formal acceptance (written or electronic signature) to an offer from a club or team, they are bound to that club/team for the seasonal year until the next Signing Day the following seasonal year, UNLESS a release transfer request is submitted and approved by all parties involved.
- A player shall have 72 hours from the date of their acceptance in which to rescind their commitment to the club/team and change their mind without penalty, financial or otherwise. No form is required just document proper dates in case of appeal or protest from the club.
